ABOUT US
The Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council, Inc. is a non-profit 501(C)(3) Corporation formed in 1985 by founder Nick Navarro, the past Broward County Sheriff. We are supported by donations from the community and its members.
The Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council members are men and women who are dedicated to supporting law enforcement, fire and other first responders in Broward County. The Advisory Council’s primary mission is to provide financial assistance to the families of Broward County law enforcement officers, firefighters and first responders that are killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty.
Financial aid given by the Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council takes on several forms depending on the needs of the surviving family. In many cases, the need is for immediate help to pay expenses such as rent, mortgage, food, utilities, and other household expenses.
The Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council has also provided funds to surviving children for college tuition through the Florida Prepaid Scholarship Program. In our 35 years we have provided over $120,000 in scholarships to the surviving children of fallen officers.

The Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council is committed to the community and supports programs that focus on improving the lives of children and families.

As individual advisory deputies, we are each personally dedicated to this goal.
